EAC X10R sold as "functional and tested".
This is how the seller hafbar76 presents a functional and tested tape recorder and without scruple will offer it on Ebay as functional and with all functions tested.

Bad Command or file name... computer are so much better now, there was no way of importing photos, no hi-fi audio, no videos, no networking no Internet nothing, it was not even in colour. Windows1 is basically text mode graphics. Windows ran on top of DOS. oh and it was not multitasking either, 1 program runs at a time. an xt is a 8 bit computer, most computers did not have a HDD either, just floppies.

DRI's GEM interface was much better and more polished graphically than Windows up until Win 3.0 or so. If Gary Kildall of DRI had met with IBM back in the mid-80's DRI would probably have been awarded the contract for the OS for the IBM-PC, not Microsoft...

I used to work for a company selling XT clones in 1985-1986. Boy, does this take me back to those days. The HD in the video is at least 5 years newer than the computer. We sold 5MB hard drives in those days!

I don't have the space for all hardware, so I run Windows 1.04 in a Virtualbox VM with MS-DOS 5.0 and as alternative DOSSHELL. The system gets its time and date from the Host OS :) It runs the VBoxVGA driver at 640x480 and Virtualbox multiplied the physical size with 1.5. I missed Solitaire.

I started a PC business in 1993. So much fun. My first PC was a IBM 8086. Then 8088, 286, 386, 486, then ...Pentium1 !! I remember first time I was on the net, I think it was 1994, I used MS terminal. Talking about the weather to some guy 5 miles away. lol. Remember when Color graphics came out (CGA), then Enhanced (EGA). Screens were $1000, lol. PCs a little less.

The sound of that floppy disk drive! I still have Pavlov-like associations between it and the anticipation of playing some new and exciting video game. Copying such a game unto a hard drive often took multiple hours. There was always a fair chance that after copying eight floppy disks, the ninth would be faulty and throw an error, meaning the game would be unplayable and I would have to wait until the next time a friend would be willing to make a fresh copy (using the brand-new set floppy disks I would undoubtedly give them to make sure things wouldn't go wrong this time). It was often a long wait, especially because as a young boy I couldn't easily afford new floppy disks, but when I finally got the game playing, it really was very satisfying.

Eventually Microsoft is going to run out of using numbers and might have no choice but to start from scratch this modern idea isn't gonna work I'm stuck on Windows 10 because I can't afford an upgrade right now the closest I can get is Ryzen which is popping out a lot of cores compared to Intel right now. Those threadrippers too are INSANE how many cores they can cap to TBH I think technology is actually being rushed and we're going no where at all because of the stupid end of life policy which shouldn't even exist I was lucky to be able to even use Windows XP back then.
